Neonatal mortality in Pakistan is one of the highest in the world. According to UNICEF, Pakistan is the most dangerous country in the world to be born into. Prematurity is a very important, frequent and preventable cause of neonatal mortality. KMC is a simple intervention to save the lives of the premature . Three important interventions are comprise Kangaroo mother care namely skin to skin care and keeping the baby in the pouch to prevent hypothermia early breast feeding to prevent hypoglycemia use of chlorhexidine and hand washing to prevent infection this is followed by monitoring of the baby. To date  more than 1500 babies have been saved
